Asparagus Day

Posted in General

This year, we are celebrating the fact that it is 25 years since Nick planted his first asparagus plants!  We are doing various things to celebrate, and the first is on this Friday, 27th.   Nick is going to lead informal asparagus walks and talks, starting from 10.30, when it will be possible to follow the journey of this special hand-picked veg from the field to the farm shop.  He will also share the behind the scenes history of it at Hungersheath.  There will also be a special Asparagus menu in the Tea Room to enjoy on the day.  Hungersheath strawberries and cream will also be on the menu for pudd!

Gorgeous Strawberries

The English Strawberry Season has started!  As with most things, they are early this year, and we have some beautiful strawbs to sell in the Shop.  They smell and taste delicious………. A good way to lift the spirits after the end of our Wembley dreams yesterday.

C’mon you reds!

To wish the Potters luck in the Final tomorrow, we are offering special red and white cakes for them in the Tea Room.  We have a vanilla sponge, filled with wicked whipped cream and strawberries or cherry and almond cake.  For those with no sweet tooth, there are Staffs oatcakes a plenty.

So pack up your oatcakes, we are off to Wembley ….. again!  Up the Potters!!!!!!!
