Happy New Year from us at Hungersheath!

Posted in General

All the best wishes for a happy, healthy and wealthy 2014!  Thank you for your continued support last year and we hope that you enjoyed all the goodies purchased from us over Christmas.  Over the festive season we sampled a turkey, goose, capon and of course our own beef ourselves, so we are very confident that you enjoyed our superb quality too.   (So now we feel a bit full……like the rest of the nation!!!)

So if you fancy eating light and simple at the moment, what better than cheese and biscuits by the fire?   All our blue cheeses are reduced by 25% this week-end, so make the most of this fantastic offer to grab some Stilton or Shropshire Blue or to sample a piece of Nantwich Blue or Blacksticks Blue if you have not tried either of these before.  I can recommend… Grab a jar of your favourite pickle at the same time.  Nick has a special thing going on for pickled walnut chutney so we stock a lovely one from Cottage Delight.

Christmas Orders

We can still take last minute meat orders for Christmas, so get in quick if you haven’t organised it yet!!  The turkeys, geese and capons are Shropshire reared so I doubt you would ever have anything better on your plate to eat on Christmas Day!!   The beef and pork is our own home-reared too so we are very proud of what we have to offer you for the festive season.   We have just taken delivery of our Christmas cheese order too………… mouth wateringly tempting!

I have been making some more fabulous hampers as well this morning – wonderful presents, full of the finest local produce with fine wines from Tanners too.  If you would like one, please get in touch quickly and I can make one up for you containing your personal choices within the day.

The reindeer are on their way!!!

This week-end we are holding our Annual Christmas Tasting, where we show off all our festive goodies and have a great many of them to taste: cheeses, savouries, beers, pudds and Christmas cake to name afew.  As ever, turkey orders placed on the day receive a free 1lb locally made pork pie for Christmas too.

And jingling their way back to us are some absolutely gorgeous reindeer!  Santa will also be here to help look after them, and the Ashley Church Choir will also be popping in to regale us with some carols………..so do come along and get festive with us!
